SSEB developed and built a squeegee machine for a customer who is active in the textile and printing industry. The customer has an extensive product portfolio, including a wide range of rotary screen printing systems and digital printing systems.
SSEB developed a machine for the squeegee, a specific part of a textile printing machine. This squeegee consists of a stainless-steel strip and a rubber strip that are glued together. The part serves to evenly distribute paint in the roller of the textile press.
Process automation – and improvement
Previously, the stainless steel and rubber strip were manually glued together. This not only required – much – time; it also resulted in quality problems. SSEB developed and built a machine that automatically glues the two parts together. The main challenge in building this specialty machine was the length of the squeegee blade, as the longest squeegee measures 4.5 meter.
