Takata is an international company that specializes in the development of seat belts, air bags, steering wheels and child restraint systems. A client asked SSEB about the feasibility to produce two parts of a seat belt system, a PT Cover and Plate.
Tooling engineering
SSEB developed a method planning to determine the number of steps required to manufacture this product. It soon turned out that very much was happening during the various stages of development. SSEB took on the challenge to integrate all of this in the tooling solution, at the same time ensuring that all parts of the assembly seamlessly fit together. Eventually, the tool was developed in such a way that it could be used in various, different tool shops.
