Customer is a tool shop – machine factory, specialized in manufacturing high-end tools for the sheet metal industry. They manufacture progressive die tooling (follow tools, cutting tools, bending tools and deep-drawing tools) as well as precision parts.
Tooling engineering using Autoform
For this customer SSEB developed the tooling process for a washing machine housing. Based on the customer’s drawing SSEB investigated, using Autoform, if the product was feasible and how many steps were required for production.
Next, a method was devised, taking into account pressing force and cutting length, for developing the tooling. This method was discussed with the customer, after which it was decided which press best suited production method.
