Project description:
A marketing bureau asked to 3D metal print an award for Heineken. This award had to be constructed and produced within a very short timeframe.

3D printing metal or plastic?
Initially, SSEB was asked to 3D print the award in metal. Research proved this to be very costly, as three pieces had to be made. We suggested to 3D print the awards in plastic, and strengthen it with quartz sand. The awards were eventually 3D printed in PA12 fine.

Based on a photograph and a rough sketch SSEB designed a 3D model of the award. It was designed in the shape of a mobile tap installation, featuring a number of complex and realistic details. After a number of modifications, ten  awards were 3D printed, post-treated and painted gold.
